Steelers to talk to WR Brown about tweet

(AP Photo/Ron Schwane, File)

PITTSBURGH (AP) Mike Tomlin doesn't like talking about the way his players use social media. The Pittsburgh Steelers coach would prefer to stick to football.

Antonio Brown, however, isn't giving his boss much choice.

Tomlin said he plans to speak to the All-Pro wide receiver "directly" after Brown caused a bit of a commotion - again - by taking to Twitter to vent after a former team employee suggested Brown's stardom is a result of playing with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

HOF members threaten induction boycott

A group of Pro Football Hall of Famers is demanding health insurance coverage and a share of NFL revenues or else those former players will boycott the induction ceremonies.

In a letter sent to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith and Hall of Fame President David Baker - and obtained by The Associated Press - 21 Hall of Fame members cited themselves as "integral to the creation of the modern NFL, which in 2017 generated $14 billion in revenue."

Vikings cut Carlson after 3 missed FGs

EAGAN, Minn. (AP) With a roster built for the Super Bowl, the Minnesota Vikings were in no position to practice patience with a struggling kicker.

Rather than hoping Daniel Carlson could refocus after missing all three of his field goal attempts in the tie game at Green Bay, the Vikings waived the rookie on Monday and punted on the fifth-round draft pick they used on him five months ago.

Falcons calling RB Freeman day-to-day

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) The Atlanta Falcons disputed a report that running back Devonta Freeman will be out for as long as three weeks with a knee injury.

Coach Dan Quinn said Monday that Freeman is listed as day to day.

Rams K Zuerlein out multiple weeks

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) Greg Zuerlein, the Rams' All-Pro kicker, will be sidelined for the near future after injuring his groin during pregame warmups for Los Angeles' blowout win over Arizona.

The Rams (2-0) are re-signing Sam Ficken to take Zuerlein's place for "at least a few weeks," coach Sean McVay said Monday after confirming the only disappointing development from the Rams' 34-0 thrashing of the Cardinals.

Browns tab K Joseph to replace Gonzalez

CLEVELAND (AP) Zane Gonzalez got kicked straight to the curb.

The Browns released the wayward kicker on Monday after his four misses on Sunday in New Orleans cost Cleveland a possible first win since 2016 with a 21-18 loss to the Saints.

Bills' McCoy's status unsure due to rib

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) Bills running back LeSean McCoy has been diagnosed with damage to his rib cartilage, leaving his status uncertain for Buffalo's game at the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Coach Sean McDermott listed McCoy day to day, and didn't rule him out from playing. McDermott didn't provide much detail on Monday except to say McCoy's status will be determined by how much pain he can tolerate.
